Karlton Charles, 35, was fatally shot multiple times on the evening of September 30, 2014 while walking toward his pickup truck outside an apartment building in the 2400 block of Pasadena Avenue in Metairie, Louisiana. He was on the phone with his mother when a gunshot ended the call; the shooting occurred at about 9:40 p.m.

About a week before the killing Charles had a verbal altercation with a man who was sitting on his truck, and his mother said that man had threatened to blast him. Investigators have not publicly tied that dispute to the homicide. No suspects or arrests have been announced, the case remains unsolved, and Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest. Charles left behind a young son.

If anyone knew Karlton, saw him in Metairie that night, or has information about the earlier dispute or the shooting, please come forward with what you know.
