In the late evening of September 30, 2014, a conversation between Karlton Charles, a 35-year-old male, and his mother was tragically cut short by the sound of a gunshot. Charles was on the phone with his mother when he was fatally shot multiple times outside an apartment building in the 2400 block of Pasadena Avenue in Metairie, Louisiana.
