Rashed Rashon Outlaw, a 30-year-old African American man, was killed by a gunshot on August 5, 2022, on the 400 block of South Wooten Street in La Grange, North Carolina. Deputies from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office found him deceased after responding to reports of a shooting.
Investigators identified Linwood Earl Moore, also of La Grange, as the suspect. Moore was at the scene, taken into custody and charged with an open count of murder; he was held without bond. Authorities say the shooting followed an argument between Outlaw and Moore, but the motive and exact circumstances of that altercation have not been released. The Sheriff’s Office is canvassing for witnesses and collecting evidence.
If anyone has information about the events on South Wooten Street that evening, contact the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.
