Steven Davis was 23 when he was found shot to death in his Oberlin apartment on November 24, 2015. A 911 call from a cousin reported Davis was bleeding and an ambulance was requested; officers at the scene observed a gunshot wound to the chest. The Lorain County coroner, Dr. Stephen Evans, later listed the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and head.
The investigation involved the Oberlin Police Department and assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification. No suspects were identified in the early phase of the inquiry. Nearly two years later, Khorey C. Banks, 25, of Elyria, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of tampering with evidence, and theft. Prosecutors said evidence at the June 2019 trial included text messages, phone records, witness statements, surveillance footage, and testimony that Banks confessed to an ex-girlfriend the night of the killing.
What details about Davis’s last hours or movements might help fill gaps in the timeline?
