A fatal shooting on September 6, 2021, ended the life of 39-year-old James Leshko at a Wiconisco Township residence he shared with his mother and roommate. The afternoon had begun with tension; Leshko was reportedly awake early and acting erratically, making accusations that included paranoid beliefs about the roommate’s relationship with Leshko’s ex-girlfriend and the roommate being favored by Leshko’s mother. Those tensions escalated into an argument with his mother that afternoon.
According to the roommate, 55-year-old Robert Ernest Thomson, he felt threatened during the confrontation, retrieved a revolver, and fired two shots on the back porch, one of which struck Leshko in the chest. Thomson called 911 shortly after 1:30 p.m., left the handgun on the kitchen table, and waited for police. Emergency responders pronounced Leshko dead at the scene, and Thomson was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide.
Are there neighbors or others who remember the day’s events or had seen signs of escalating conflict at that address before September 6, 2021?
