On the afternoon of August 3, 2017, a dispute on Scenic Drive in Cookeville, Tennessee, ended in a fatal shooting. Police were called about a man bleeding in the street around 1:45 p.m. and found 40-year-old Randy D. Randall Kendall fatally shot. Reports say the argument began as a verbal confrontation between Kendall, a Buffalo Valley resident, and 28-year-old Ricky Nathaniel Murphy; it turned physical, and Murphy allegedly returned from his home with a long gun and shot Kendall.
