Sixteen-year-old Ariel Shepherd was killed on November 9, 2013, when multiple shots were fired into a crowd at a birthday party in a home in the 7300 block of Enchanted Creek Drive in Cypress, Texas. She was one of two teenagers who died; 17-year-old Queric Richardson also was killed at the scene and about 20 people were wounded. Both victims attended Morton Ranch High School in Katy.

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Randy Stewart and 21-year-old Willie Young in the aftermath. Stewart was initially charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and later faced a tampering-with-evidence charge alongside his brother Marvin Stewart, who was not in custody. Young was arrested but later released after witness statements conflicted with earlier claims that he had fired a weapon.

The investigation remained open as authorities sought more information from the public about what happened at the party. Did anyone at the Enchanted Creek Drive gathering see who fired the shots or recognize someone acting suspiciously that night?
