On August 28, 2005, a shooting spree in Sash, Texas, left four people dead, including 45-year-old Ceri Litterio. The violence began after an earlier confrontation in the Sash Assembly of God parking lot when 54-year-old Freddie L. Cranshaw shot church member Wes Brown, 61, and pastor James Armstrong, 42. Both men were found dead next to the parking lot.
Cranshaw then encountered a truck towing a horse trailer at an intersection. Inside were Ceri Litterio and 50-year-old Holly Love Brown, returning from a weekend of trail riding. Cranshaw opened fire on the vehicle; witnesses heard the women scream as they tried to flee, and both were killed. Authorities described their deaths as apparently random.
After the shootings Cranshaw barricaded himself at home, exchanged gunfire with officers during a nine-hour standoff, and was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after SWAT used tear gas to enter. The weapons and extra ammunition were recovered inside his house. Does anyone have information about Ceri’s life in the Sash area or knew her before that day?
