Reading about Officer David Wilburn Roberts’ tragic passing is so incredibly somber. What really hits me is the bravery it must have taken to approach that vehicle, not knowing the danger that awaited him. I can't stop thinking about how young he was—just 23, with a whole life and career ahead of him. It's such a stark reminder of the risks law enforcement officers take every day. My heart truly goes out to his wife and young son; losing a husband and father so suddenly is unimaginable. The fact that he was trying to ensure the community's safety when he was attacked is a testament to his character. It’s moments like these that remind us how much officers like David sacrifice for their communities. Rest in peace, Officer Roberts.
