Hey everyone, I keep thinking about the circumstances surrounding Cynthia Lyn Rose’s tragic end, especially how her death was initially labeled an overdose. It upsets me to think about how often victims might not get the justice they deserve because of missteps or misunderstandings in the investigation process. I can't imagine the pain her family must have felt, both when they thought she died of an overdose and then finding out she was a victim of the "Happy Face Killer." It's chilling to realize how Jesperson managed to go unnoticed for so long and how Cynthia's case was only reopened due to his confession. I hope that with advances in forensic technology and better communication between jurisdictions, fewer cases slip through the cracks today. Whenever I read about cases like this, it’s a stark reminder of how important it is for us to advocate for victims and push for thorough and fair investigations. My thoughts are with Cynthia's loved ones, and I hope they have found some peace knowing the truth. We must never forget the victims as real individuals with lives and loved ones, not just as statistics in a criminal record.
