Sixteen-year-old Sah’Dell Roberts, a Highland High School student from Sacramento, was killed in a mass shooting at a rented Woodland Hills mansion during a house party in the early morning hours of February 9, 2025. The party, in the 5900 block of Winnetka Avenue, drew an estimated 200 to 300 people and was advertised as an 18-and-over VIP event. Roberts was found in the driveway with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the shooting followed an altercation inside the residence. A suspect who had been involved in an argument and was being escorted out by security opened fire on the dance floor, firing multiple rounds into the crowd before fleeing. Six other people, ages 19 to 37, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospitals. The suspect’s description has not been released and remains at large.

Roberts’ family said he had traveled to Los Angeles pursuing music and described him as a rising rapper. They questioned how a firearm entered an event with security in place and urged anyone with information to come forward. If anyone attended the party or has information about the shooting or how the suspect left the scene, please contact the Los Angeles Police Department Topanga station or Crime Stoppers.
