Marcus David Antley, 66, a longtime Eagle Pass resident and retired U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent known locally as Mark, was fatally shot shortly after midnight on September 28, 2025, outside the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino. Gunfire erupted on a busy raffle night, striking multiple people; one victim died at the scene, Antley died there as recorded by officials, and Alicia Daniela Sanchez later died en route to the hospital. Five others were injured.
The casino closed temporarily while tribal police and partner agencies secured the area. Authorities tracked a black Nissan pickup leaving the property, followed the vehicle northeast toward Wilson County and after a brief chase arrested 34-year-old Keryan Rashad Jones of San Antonio. Investigators recovered a firearm and prosecutors filed two counts of capital murder plus multiple aggravated-assault charges tied to the wounded bystanders. The investigation involved the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Police Department with support from the Texas Rangers, DPS and the FBI.
Friends and community leaders, including Eagle Pass Mayor Aaron Valdez, remembered Antley as a steady presence who spent decades in federal service. His wife was injured in the chaos. The community began memorials as the casino reviewed security measures. If anyone was at the casino that night or knew more about events leading up to the shooting, please share what was seen or heard.
