A small Clay County community was devastated on the evening of January 9, 2026, when a series of shootings across three locations left six people dead, including 55-year-old Willie Ed Guines. Guines, described by family as the jokester and the cool uncle, was one of three men found shot in the head at the family mobile home on David Hill Road; the others there were 67-year-old Glenn Moore and 33-year-old Quinton Moore.
Authorities say the shootings at the family home were followed by a string of crimes attributed to a relative, who allegedly took a Ford F-150 and drove to a cousin’s house on Blake Road. There, a 7-year-old second cousin, Mikylia Guines, was fatally shot and an attempted sexual battery and threats against another child were reported. Two more men, Reverend Barry Bradley and his brother Samuel Bradley, were later found shot to death at a residence on Siloam-Griffith Road. The suspect was taken into custody at a roadblock about five hours after the violence began.
The arrested person pleaded not guilty at the initial court appearance, was denied bond, and is facing multiple counts including capital murder, with prosecutors saying they intend to seek the death penalty. A mental health evaluation was ordered and no trial date has been set. If anyone knew Willie Ed Guines or has information about that night, please come forward with what was seen or heard.
