Paula Beverly Davis was 21 and a mother to a 10-month-old when she disappeared from Kansas City, Missouri, around August 9, 1987. Her mother’s early attempts to file a missing person report met resistance because Paula was an adult and known to hitchhike from a local truck stop. She had distinctive tattoos of a unicorn and a flower on her breasts.Paula was last seen by a roommate on August 9.

On August 10, 1987, a young woman who had been strangled was found dumped on an eastbound off-ramp of Interstate 70 in Englewood, Ohio. The victim, wearing jeans, blue panties and a blue headband but no shirt or shoes, remained unidentified for 22 years as Englewood Jane Doe or the Blue Bandana Girl. In 2009 Paula’s sister, Stephanie Clack, recognized matching tattoos on a missing person database and DNA testing confirmed the Jane Doe was Paula.Detectives have investigated several leads, including mention of convicted serial killer Lorenzo Gilyard as a person of interest and a theory involving a Kansas City drug dealer from whom Paula and a roommate allegedly stole drugs; no arrests have been made and the case is listed open but inactive.

Did anyone who knew Paula in Kansas City or who frequented that truck stop in 1987 see her or the blonde woman her roommate described?
