On the evening of August 17, 2026, gunfire on Invermere Avenue in Cleveland left 19-year-old Dysean Russell and 17-year-old Hasani Reed dead and two other people wounded. The scene drew a large, emotional crowd as officers worked the scene and treated the incident as a homicide.
Police indicated the shooting was not random and said investigators believed it grew out of a family dispute, but the nature of that dispute and the identities of others involved were not made public. In the days after the shooting authorities had not identified suspects or announced arrests and the investigation remained active.
If anyone was in the area that night or has information about a dispute involving the victims, please share what was seen or heard with Cleveland police.
