Nygel S. Gibbs, known as Ny or Nyheim, was a 24-year-old Black man, 6 feet 1 inch with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes. He was shot and killed after an argument at the Gin Mill Bar on Esquire Drive in Beavercreek, Ohio, on the night of January 23, 2010.

Witnesses say the dispute inside the bar involved an unknown young Black man, about 18 to 20 years old, slender and athletic, roughly 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, who reportedly had a large X marked on his hand. After the bar closed the argument moved into the parking lot and a gunfight erupted; investigators determined 19 shots were fired from two different caliber handguns and three bullets struck Nygel. The suspect was seen leaving in a white or silver late 1990s Ford Explorer.

Beavercreek Police followed tips into the Dayton and Columbus areas but reported no breakthrough. If anyone remembers that night at the Gin Mill or has information about a young man with an X marked on his hand or a late 1990s Ford Explorer, please share what is known.
