Ami Romans was 16 when she died in a house fire on April 6, 2008, in London, Ohio. The blaze began just after midnight in a 2001 Ford Expedition parked in the family’s attached carport and quickly spread through the home, killing Ami, her 12-year-old brother Caleb, and their mother Billi Romans. Ami’s father, Peter Romans, was the only family member to escape.

Investigators ruled the fire an arson, but the case went cold for years with no arrests. In 2019 Peter Romans was arrested and indicted on multiple counts of aggravated murder and arson; prosecutors accused him of intentionally setting the fire, while the defense pointed to a recalled faulty part on the SUV as an alternative cause. He was tried before a three-judge panel and in October 2020 was found not guilty on all counts.

As of October 2020 the deaths of Ami, Caleb, and Billi Romans remain unsolved. Does anyone have information about the family or the fire that could help shed light on what happened?
