On February 19, 1983, Dennis Hilliard, 40, was found behind a building at 1226 E. Long Street in Columbus, Ohio, with a fatal head injury. He had suffered a significant blow from an unknown weapon and was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital, where he later died.
The Columbus Police Department and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office have classified the death as a homicide. The circumstances surrounding how and why Hilliard was attacked remain unclear, and no arrests or public identifications of suspects have been announced. Authorities continue to seek tips from the community and have asked anyone with information to contact law enforcement or the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to help bring closure to Hilliard’s family and friends.
Did anyone in the Columbus area remember seeing or hearing anything around E. Long Street on or before February 19, 1983 that might help investigators?
