On the morning of July 6, 2024, 56-year-old Nicole Nikki Anderson was seen on a doorbell camera leaving the Randolph Township home she shared with her mother, saying she was going to check the mail. She left on foot wearing a long grey sweater, camouflage pants, and sandals or house slippers, and she left behind her cell phone, wallet, keys and her dog. Family members say she would not have willingly left her dog, and she was also without cancer medication she needed while undergoing chemotherapy after a recent double mastectomy.
Dakota County Sheriff’s Office searched Nicole’s house and the surrounding area with K-9 units, drones and helicopters and have said they do not believe she is in the immediate area. Early leads included a man who had been posing as a woodcutter on her property and Nicole’s then-boyfriend, Matthew Suttles, who was briefly a person of interest; a warrant search of Suttles’ residence on July 10 turned up no evidence and he was later ruled out in the case. Rewards of up to $50,000 have been offered for information.
The investigation remains active and open with few public leads a year after Nicole vanished. If anyone saw Nicole that morning or knows about the woodcutter mentioned by family, please come forward with information.
