Ronald Vincent Maurath was a 24-year-old white man from Magna, Utah whose life was taken in the spring of 1983. Investigators believe the events that led to his death began in the early hours of May 7, 1983, and police theory at the time tied the killing to a fight inside a bar a few hours before he was found.
His body was discovered on Garfield Road, a stretch of road between Magna and the beaches of the Great Salt Lake, on May 8, 1983. An examination determined he had been stabbed repeatedly. Investigators pursued the bar-fight theory but the trail did not produce arrests, and no suspects were publicly identified; as of December 1989 the murder remained unsolved.
If anyone knew Ronald, was at the bar that night, or has information about Garfield Road in early May 1983, please come forward.
