Duong Nguyen, 61, and his 22-year-old son America were found shot to death in their Salisbury Lane home in Bealeton, Virginia. The father, a cabinet maker who had emigrated from Vietnam, and his son were alone in the house while the wife and daughter were in Vietnam caring for a sick relative. Sometime between the evening of November 7 and the morning of November 8, 2018, an unknown person or persons entered the newly built home and shot both men multiple times in their upper torsos; deputies discovered the bodies after entering through an unlocked door on the morning of November 9 during a welfare check.
Investigators have described the attack as targeted rather than random but have not released a motive. Friends and family said Duong and America were kind, gentle, and not known to have enemies. The FBI is involved and has offered up to a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction; authorities asked for tips from anyone who may have been traveling along the Route 28 corridor in Fauquier and Prince William counties the night of the killings.
If anyone has information about movements along Route 28 that night or anything suspicious near Salisbury Lane in early November 2018, please share what is known with investigators.
