Ronald Mark Fassina, a 67-year-old White man from Fultondale, Alabama, was mortally wounded inside his Chapel Hills home on Overlook Road late on February 10, 2016. Police initially described the incident as a robbery and kidnapping that turned violent; investigators said those involved were not strangers and that an argument over money escalated to gunfire. Fassina and one of the intruders, Kameron David, were both shot during the confrontation, and Fassina was taken from the scene with critical injuries before later dying, with obituary reporting giving his date of death as February 13.
Fassina’s son was also the reported target of kidnapping, robbery, and burglary at the house that night. Kameron David and Joshua Dixon were initially charged with robbery, kidnapping, and first-degree burglary. Reporting shows David was later charged with capital murder and, at his 2018 trial, was convicted by a Jefferson County jury of intentional murder in Fassina’s killing. Court testimony at trial referenced drugs, money, prior connections among those present, and competing accounts about a struggle over a pistol.
Did anyone in the Chapel Hills area at the time see or hear anything that could clarify what happened that night?
