I’ve been digging into Yamaira's case, and something that keeps nagging at me is the lack of media coverage back in 2000. I've done some research on other cases from around that time, and many of them seemed to get at least a bit more media attention, even in the early stages. I’m curious, does anyone know if there were any local efforts in Yabucoa at the time that just didn’t get picked up by larger outlets? Or perhaps smaller newspapers that might have documented more details? It’s frustrating that so little information has come out over the years—makes me wonder what might have been missed or overlooked initially. Any insights or similar experiences in other cases where media took a long time to catch on?

Did anyone else come across that interview with Yamaira's childhood friend from her neighborhood? It's interesting how he mentioned she had been feeling uneasy for a couple of weeks before her disappearance, like something was bothering her, but she didn’t open up about it. Seems like the authorities never really dug deep into that lead. I’m wondering if there could be any connection there, maybe someone she mentioned feeling wary of or something that might have hinted at what happened. It's frustrating that it didn't seem to go anywhere, but these tiny details might still be important. Does anyone else have thoughts or similar findings? Let's keep discussing and see if we can piece something together.
