Christine Marianne Harron was 15 when she left her Hanover, Ontario home on May 18, 1993, after an argument with her mother about returning to school that afternoon. She left at about 1:30 p.m. without her purse, money, or school bag and was last seen wearing a light blue denim jacket, blue jeans, black running shoes, and large brown-rimmed glasses held together with tape.
Her family initially feared she might have run away, but they always felt her disappearance was out of character and believed something terrible had happened. Investigators followed tips and leads for years, but the case eventually went cold and produced no significant breakthroughs for a long time.
A later arrest in 2004 brought hope to family and the community, but legal issues affected the prosecution. The investigation was reopened and further developments followed. Christine’s remains have not been found.
If anyone knew Christine, saw her that afternoon, or has information about where she might have gone, please come forward.
