Chance Gavin Daniel Kay, 35, was last seen in the early hours of Friday, March 29, 2024, near the Skyways Motel on Highway 11 in Gravenhurst, Ontario. Earlier that evening he borrowed his common-law partner’s car to go to a drugstore in Bracebridge, then visited an acquaintance at the motel. He left the motel area on foot, leaving behind his cell phone and his mother’s car; that vehicle was later found abandoned at the Skyways Motel.

Chance is described as 5 feet 8 inches, slim, with long auburn hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos, including some on his face. At the time he was believed to be wearing a black Adidas hoodie and green track pants. A couple of unconfirmed sightings reported someone matching his description walking south on Winhara Road at about 6:00 p.m. the evening he disappeared.

The Ontario Provincial Police conducted ground and aerial searches around the motel and Winhara Road, assisted by canine units, the Emergency Response Team and volunteer organizations, but no trace has been found. Authorities have stated they do not consider the disappearance suspicious and the investigation remains active. If anyone knew Chance’s movements that night or has information about his whereabouts, please come forward.
