Kevin Gerard Leroux, 56, was last seen in St. Joseph’s Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador, on February 1, 2008. He was believed to have been riding his all-terrain vehicle when he disappeared. At the time he was described as a white male, 68 inches tall, about 196 pounds, heavy build, dark complexion, short brown hair and blue eyes, wearing a black cotton fall coat, a grey striped sweater and green rubber boots.

Searchers with the Bay d’Espoir RCMP found Leroux’s helmet and ATV tracks leading toward an area of broken ice; police divers searched the frigid water but conditions were hazardous and the ice was described as very poor. Several months later the ATV was recovered about 22 kilometres from where it was thought to have entered the water, but Leroux himself has never been found and his body has not been recovered.

The available evidence led investigators to treat this as a presumed accident, yet there is no definitive conclusion and he remains listed as a missing person. Does anyone in the St. Joseph’s Cove area remember seeing Kevin or his ATV that winter or have information that could help resolve what happened?
