He was reportedly wearing a black cotton fall coat, a grey sweater with stripes, and green rubber boots. Concerns for Kevin Leroux's safety grew, prompting the involvement of the Bay d'Espoir RCMP. The ice in the area was described as very poor and unsafe for any travel, complicating the search for the missing man. Several months after he was last seen, a significant piece of evidence was recovered when Mr. Leroux's ATV was found approximately 22 kilometers from where it was initially believed to have entered the water. Despite this discovery, there has been no sign of Kevin Gerard Leroux since that fateful day in February 2008. His body has never been recovered, leaving his family and community with unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss.
