Hey everyone, I stumbled upon the case of Thomas Robert Spence from 1993, and something that's been on my mind is the condition of the boat they were using. The survivor mentioned that their boat hit a rock and the motor quit. My question is, does anyone know what kind of maintenance or checks these boats usually go through before a fishing trip? I get that accidents happen, but could anything have been done differently to avoid this kind of tragedy? Do local fishermen have any protocols for situations like this? I'm really curious because it sounds like such a perilous environment, and it makes me wonder if better preparation might have changed the outcome. Would love to hear your thoughts or from anyone familiar with the area or similar incidents.
