Tammy Jerilynn Faith Nattaway was a 16-year-old girl who vanished from the Island Lake region of northeastern Manitoba in mid-July 2020. She was in foster care in Garden Hill First Nation and was last seen there waiting for a boat to Wasagamack to visit family; the last confirmed sighting by her mother was July 7, 2020, though other reports list dates as July 8, July 14, or as late as July 20. Her family and the RCMP were not alerted until late July.
Hundreds of volunteers from Garden Hill, Wasagamack, St. Theresa Point and nearby communities joined extensive searches on land, water and air, including foot teams, ATVs, K9 units, boats and divers. RCMP Major Crime Services interviewed more than 100 people and pursued numerous tips. The only significant item recovered was a sweater believed to be Tammy’s, found in Wasagamack two years after she went missing. The RCMP say they suspect foul play in her disappearance. Her family describes her as quiet, fond of reading and music, and the eldest of nine siblings.
Does anyone from Garden Hill, Wasagamack or nearby communities remember Tammy in July 2020 or have information that could help bring answers?
