Bonny Pearl Polwarth was 34 when she was last seen in Brandon, Manitoba, on March 15, 1995. She disappeared from the 1000 block of 1st Street North after reportedly walking out of the Brandon Mental Health Centre. Bonny was described as a Caucasian female, 5 feet 5 inches, 145 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair often worn in a ponytail; she wore eyeglasses and was last seen in blue jeans, a multi-colored top and a cream-colored jacket with brown and green accents.
She reportedly had a lawyer’s appointment at 3:00 p.m. that day and never attended. Her family was not told of her absence until a week later when they called the centre. Family members say she was a loving mother of two and would not have willingly abandoned her children; they have speculated about drowning during the city flood that year and about possible foul play involving her now-deceased ex-husband. The Brandon Police Service continues to list her as a missing person and has renewed appeals for information.
If anyone knew Bonny’s movements in Brandon around March 15, 1995, or has information that might help locate her, please come forward.
