I’ve been thinking a lot about the audacity and violence of the shooting at Miramar Park of Commerce. It’s deeply troubling to imagine someone you know ending up in such a tragic situation. My heart goes out to Devon Blake's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. I used to visit that area quite often, and it’s surreal to think about something so terrible happening at a place you imagine as mostly mundane, where people are just grabbing lunch and going about their daily routines. The details about the shooter’s attire, particularly wearing an orange shirt and a black mask, paint a chilling picture of how brazen they were. It's hard not to think about the psychological state of someone who can commit such an act in broad daylight. I really hope that the ongoing investigation can reveal more about the motive and the connection between Blake and Everett. Offering support to the victims’ families and creating spaces for community healing seems important right now. And for those who might know more about this case, please come forward to assist the investigation. Anyone’s piece of information could be critical. We're all hoping for justice for Devon and peace for those who knew and loved him.
