Tyler Williams was 19 when he was found with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead on the evening of Monday, January 22, 2024, in the 900 block of West Krugal Lane in an unincorporated area of Westwego, Louisiana. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:30 p.m. The community reaction was immediate and sorrowful: Williams was a recent graduate of Young Audiences Charter School, a standout football player and team captain who reportedly had several college scholarship offers and aspirations to play at the collegiate level and beyond.

Remembered for a passion for the arts and a love of dancing, Williams’ death left family, classmates, and coaches grieving; his coach compared losing a student-athlete to losing a child.

Did anyone in the Westwego area see or hear anything on the evening of January 22 that could help investigators?
