Nelson Bonilla-Reyes, 36, was fatally shot on the evening of New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2023, in Capitol Heights, Maryland. The shooting occurred at about 10:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive. Officers found Bonilla-Reyes outside with a gunshot wound; he was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

Police say investigators believe the shooting occurred during a robbery and that the victim did not know the suspects. Two people were later identified and arrested in connection with the killing: 18-year-old Bilal Ansariddeen of Bowie and 19-year-old Kiemontey Jenifer of Washington, D.C. Both were charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related counts; each is being held without bond. Authorities say the probe continues as they seek to determine whether additional suspects were involved.

Did anyone in the area see activity around Dunbar Oaks Drive that night or have information about Nelson’s movements before the shooting?
