I was reading about the tragic case of Tristen and felt compelled to share my thoughts about the support the community is rallying to offer. It’s truly commendable how the Lamont Elementary School District has stepped up to provide counseling services. I can't even imagine the shockwave this sent through the students and staff at Mountain View Middle School. Having that support system in place is so vital during times like these. It’s inspiring to see people come together to support each other, but at the same time, it’s devastating that we continue to need to create these support systems due to such senseless violence. Let’s hope this brings more awareness and action towards addressing gun violence, especially among our youth. My deepest condolences go out to Tristen's family, especially his mom. Losing a child is a pain no parent should endure, and from everything I've read, Tristen seemed like a bright kid with a bright future. Thoughts and prayers are with them during this unimaginably difficult time.
