Sixteen-year-old Ke’Marion Tucker, a Brentwood resident and Liberty High School student, was fatally shot at a house party in Oakley on October 21, 2023. The gathering took place at a home in the 400 block of Shannon Way; officers had responded earlier for a noise complaint and spoke with an 18-year-old female resident who was trying to shut the party down but declined police help to disperse the crowd. About 30 minutes after that visit, a group of roughly 20 to 30 people reportedly entered through a side gate, gunfire followed, and attendees fled.
Officers found Tucker dead at the scene and three other teenagers — a 17-year-old female, a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male — with gunshot wounds. Those injured were taken to hospital and were expected to survive. The investigation led to the November 30, 2023, arrest of 18-year-old Oakley resident Sean Karp; on December 5, 2023, the Contra Costa County District Attorney charged Karp with one count of murder with a firearm enhancement and three counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm with related enhancements. Karp was held at the Martinez Detention Facility with bail set at $2.66 million and arraigned December 6, 2023.
If anyone attended the party or has information about who entered the property that night, please share what is known.
