I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around this tragic loss. I've lived in Stanton my whole life, and Harry Dotson Park is a place many of us have passed by countless times. It's incredibly unsettling to think that such a violent act took place in broad daylight in a community where so many families gather. My heart aches for Ricardo Vivar's family, especially his children. I remember seeing him around the neighborhood, always with a big smile. It makes me wonder about the escalation of violence in our area. Erica's comments about a local group trying to make a name for themselves struck me. It highlights a larger issue we've been facing, where innocent lives are affected by conflicts they aren't even part of. It's hard to imagine the pain Vivar's family must be feeling, particularly knowing there's still no closure with no arrests made. Let's hope the Sheriff's Department can piece together the puzzle soon. Meanwhile, if anyone knows anything, no matter how small the detail, please come forward. We owe it to Ricardo and his family to get justice and strengthen our community against such senseless violence. Stay safe, everyone.
