Has anyone else been struck by the number of lives changed overnight by the tragedy in Orange? It’s devastating to think about how one family gathering on New Year's Day turned into such a nightmare. Especially hard to grasp is the loss felt by the friends of 17-year-old Janiya. At such a young age, she had a whole life ahead of her, filled with dreams and potential. My heart goes out to her classmates and friends who must be struggling to process all of this. I hope they're getting the support they need. It's in moments like these that community and empathy can be so crucial. If anyone has information on any resources or memorials being held by Janiya’s school or peers, sharing here could be a great start in helping them cope and honor her memory.
