I’ve been following Jerry's case closely and I can’t shake the thought of how vibrant a future he had ahead of him. I wanted to bring up the involvement he had with the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. It’s clear to me that Jerry had incredible discipline and leadership skills, qualities not every high schooler possesses. Being a Corporal at such a young age shows how driven he was. I can’t even imagine the pain his family is going through. That tight-knit community must have known how bright Jerry’s future was. I hope the authorities are considering every possible angle, especially given his involvement in the JROTC. Do any locals have thoughts on how his passions and activities could tie into what happened? It’s disturbing to think such a motivated young person could become a victim in this way. Sending strength to his loved ones, especially his sisters and mom who must be going through unimaginable pain right now. ?
