The pre-dawn hours of November 5, 2022 ended in tragedy on West Thames Street in Norwich, Connecticut. A 911 call around 5:30 a.m. followed an argument outside a condominium complex and a single gunshot; officers found 30-year-old Black woman Jashira Pagan on the ground with a gunshot wound to her head. She was taken to a nearby hospital and died on November 7, 2022 after two days in care.

Norwich police treated the shooting as a homicide and said it appeared to be a targeted act rather than random violence. In December 2022 authorities arrested 22-year-old Atlantikh Balidemaj of Norwich and charged him with murder and firearm-related offenses; he was held on a $5 million bond pending court proceedings.

Did anyone in Norwich see or hear anything around West Thames Street that pre-dawn morning that could help clarify what happened?
