Donzie Taylor, 41, was found dead in Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain in the early morning of July 19, 2016. A passerby discovered him unresponsive in a driveway between a baseball field and a skate park at about 7:45 a.m.; emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined he died of a gunshot wound to the chest and ruled the death a homicide.

Police said Taylor, a Black/African American man from Middletown who worked as a Junior Production Project Planner, had no prior history with investigators and there was no obvious reason for him to be in that area. Friends and family remembered him as kind-hearted, generous, a devoted father, and someone who was funny and helpful. Despite public appeals and an active investigation by the New Britain Police Department with state assistance, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.

Does anyone have information about Taylor’s movements in New Britain on July 19, 2016, or recall seeing him near Stanley Quarter Park that morning?
