On the night of July 23, 2022, 18-year-old Fayzan Ali was killed in a drive-by shooting outside a house party in West Jordan, Utah. Ali was standing outside a residence at 3355 W. 6920 South with two other young men, Ayash Mohamed, 18, and Mohamed Mohamed, 20, when occupants of one or more vehicles opened fire. One victim died at the scene and the other two, including Ali, died after being taken to a local hospital.

Police described the attack as a targeted, planned act of gang-related violence. Court documents say at least 27 shots were fired. Witnesses reported a white Cadillac leaving the area; a 16-year-old was arrested after that lead and authorities recovered a gun during searches of the vehicle and the teen’s home.

Multiple people have since been charged in connection with the triple homicide. Among them are a 17-year-old, Steven Donovan Carmona, charged with three counts of aggravated murder; several other teenagers charged in juvenile court; and a 15-year-old, Stefon Samuel Sandoval, who has been certified to stand trial as an adult on three counts of aggravated murder. Quincy Jason Lewis Holt pleaded guilty to obstructing justice and received three years probation, and Estuardo Castaneda was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of justice for allegedly moving firearms used in the killings.

If anyone knew Fayzan Ali or was at the party that night, please share what you remember with investigators.
