On the evening of October 16, 2021, 18-year-old Jase Elizabeth Delich was found fatally wounded in an apartment at 415 S. Broadway Street in Pittsburg, Kansas. A caller reported an open apartment door and saw a woman lying on the floor bleeding; first responders pronounced Delich deceased at the scene. Evidence at the apartment indicated she had been shot with a handgun and the Pittsburg Police Department opened a homicide investigation treating the killing as an isolated incident.
Investigators reviewed nearby surveillance and conducted witness interviews that quickly identified a suspect. Police located 23-year-old Bri’yon Ezra Baker of Tennessee walking near 16th Street and Joplin Street around midnight on October 17 and took him into custody without incident; a handgun was found in his possession. Baker was arrested, charged with second-degree murder, and booked into Crawford County Jail with bond set at $1,000,000.
Did anyone in the Pittsburg area know Jase Delich or see anything around Broadway Street on the night of October 16 that could help the case?
