A domestic disturbance in Madisonville, Kentucky, on Sunday afternoon, October 24, 2021, ended in the fatal shooting of 61-year-old Benigno I Feliciano. Police were called to a South Harrig Street residence after a report that a man had been shot by his wife. Feliciano was found with a gunshot wound and was taken by emergency medical services to a hospital out of state, where he died during surgery.

His wife, 54-year-old Ravan Hamlett, was arrested at the scene and initially charged with first-degree assault. After Feliciano’s death it was anticipated the charges would be upgraded to account for the fatality. Law enforcement reports say Hamlett told officers she heard voices instructing her to shoot her husband. Few additional details about the events leading up to the shooting have been released.
