Fourteen-year-old Antwoine Watson Jr. was shot and killed while sitting in a vehicle in the 1200 block of E. Grant Ave. in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on the evening of November 7, 2021. The shooting reportedly grew out of a months-long dispute with another teenager; witnesses said Antwoine had told someone the day before that he planned to meet that teen to fight over a gun the other youth possessed. After the shooting, an attempt was made to rush Antwoine to a nearby hospital, but the vehicle was stopped on a viaduct and an ambulance was summoned; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified 15-year-old Dasan Clark as the suspect. Witnesses described a Black male in a red shirt fleeing into a wooded area. Clark was charged as an adult with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime; a firearm was recovered after a two-day search and Clark was taken into custody. In court, Clark later entered a blind guilty plea and received a life sentence with parole eligibility under terms reported at sentencing. If anyone knew Antwoine, saw the area that night, or has information about the dispute leading up to the shooting, please share what is known.
