Cord Kenneth Allen was found dead in his Enid, Oklahoma home on the evening of June 5, 2020. Officers responding to a 911 call discovered the 29-year-old had sustained multiple gunshot wounds — investigators reported six shots, with some wounds consistent with a defensive struggle.

Attention focused on Allen’s former roommate, Jarrod Bergman. Investigators recovered Bergman’s driver’s license at the scene, and witness statements, phone records and surveillance footage placed him at the house around the time of the shooting. Bergman fled after the killing and was later taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies when the stolen vehicle he was driving broke down on the side of a road.

Bergman was tried in Garfield County beginning in September 2022; the trial ended in a not guilty verdict. A separate October 2020 record links a Jarrod Bergman to a conviction for threatening an act of violence, but that matter appears unrelated to Allen’s death. Does anyone have additional information about Cord Allen’s life in Enid or the investigation?
