Isaac Kayutak, 34, and companion Laura Kuckes left Barrow, Alaska on July 27, 1990 for a planned ten-day outing. The last known sighting was August 4, 1990, when other Barrow residents visited their campsite to ask directions to a fishing camp on the Chipp River. On August 8 their overturned 18-foot skiff was found lodged on a sandbar in Admiralty Bay about 45 miles southeast of Barrow; a sleeping bag and Kuckes’s dog, which had drowned, were with the boat.

Searchers later recovered more of the couple’s belongings, including canvas bags with camping gear and medication belonging to both Kayutak and Kuckes. Kayutak is described as American Indian/Alaska Native, black hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 150 pounds. The North Slope Borough Police Department and the Alaska State Troopers handled the investigation.

It is presumed the pair were returning to Barrow when the skiff overturned. Does anyone have information about their route, the Chipp River area, or sightings from late July to early August 1990?
