On September 5, 2021, officers in Elkhart, Indiana, conducted a welfare check at a home in the 500 block of West Blaine Avenue and found 49-year-old Cristina Pina Aguilar deceased. An autopsy determined she died of gunshot wounds, and the case was treated as a homicide by the Elkhart County Homicide Unit.
Investigators interviewed people connected to Aguilar and examined evidence from the scene, focusing on domestic relationships within the household. On September 10, 2021, the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office obtained and served an arrest warrant for Aguilar’s husband, 45-year-old Arnulfo Alanis Perez, after establishing probable cause to charge him in connection with the shooting. Reports at the time identified Perez as the sole suspect and the investigation remained open.
Does anyone have information about Cristina’s life in Elkhart or observed activity around West Blaine Avenue in early September 2021?
