Nichole Yvette Paschall, 49, was shot multiple times on June 23, 2019, on Oliver Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The initial attack left her with severe injuries; she was hospitalized and later transferred to a long-term rehabilitation facility for ongoing care. For more than a year she continued to suffer the consequences of those wounds.
On September 8, 2020, Paschall was found unresponsive in her bed at the rehabilitation center and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Allen County Coroner’s Office ruled her death a homicide, listing complications from the multiple gunshot wounds sustained in June 2019 as the cause. Her death was recorded as the 35th homicide in Allen County for 2020.
The Fort Wayne Police Department describes the shooting and Paschall’s subsequent death as an open, active investigation. No arrests or publicly identified suspects have been announced, and no motive has been released. If anyone has information about the shooting on Oliver Street or Paschall’s case, please come forward.
