Delray Tyron Swift was 27 when he was found shot to death outside the VIP Show Club in the 900 block of South Western Avenue in Marion during the early morning hours of August 12, 2016. Responding Marion Police Department officers pronounced him dead at the scene; he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators opened a homicide probe and have conducted interviews and followed leads, but no suspects were immediately identified or arrested in connection with Swift’s killing. A 22-year-old man named Tre Richmond was arrested at the scene on charges of resisting law enforcement and reckless possession of paraphernalia, but authorities did not link Richmond to the homicide. Grant County Crime Stoppers has offered a reward for information that could lead to an arrest.
Friends and family remember Swift for playing Xbox, watching movies, and spending time with loved ones. Anyone who knew Delray or has information about what happened that night is asked to come forward.
