In the late evening hours of March 10, 2021, the life of 25-year-old Deja Nicole Veal was tragically cut short in a targeted act of violence in Kansas City, Missouri. A Black female, Veal was discovered by police officers lying in the street in the 500 block of Wabash Avenue after they heard gunshots in the area shortly before 10 p.m. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but she was pronounced deceased.
